Learning to Send Love

I'm not sure about you, but to me, nothing feels better than sending love. Just by closing your eyes, thinking about someone, and visualizing sending love to them, it can instantly lift your mood! Recently I've had many moments popping up where I have felt stuck, sad, and shrunken into my turtle-esq shell... Feeling unable to shove the weight of misery and overwhelm off of me and wondering what I was doing wrong.

I have noticed a pattern in my life over the last year. Whenever I hold back love, I feel like crap. Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, the lot... nothing flows for me when love is not flowing from me. This can be on a small and seemingly unsubstantial scale like I make a snappy comment or I breathe shallowly and allow work to stress me out. Or it can be on a bigger, more obvious scale, like in my friendships, relationships with my family, or when it comes to Mr. Jupiter (as an angel intuitive recently and wittingly dubbed my ex.)

When I hold back love in any of these situations, or with any of these people, I feel like I am half-assing life and half-assing myself. I know inside I can do better and I can be more, but yet so often I catch myself still faltering to auto-pilot to my old ways. I've begun listening to the audio book for Neale Donald Walsch's latest CWG book, Awaken the Species (Conversations with God book four), and I found myself laughing to myself as they discussed this very thing. It is incredible how synchronistic life can be, isn't it?

We all seem to do things in life, whether they are on a small or massive scale, that we know better than to do. But yet, we default, experiencing moments of floating through life unconsciously (never a good idea I've found), and then wondering why we feel so tense, stressed, sad, or anxious. However, when we consciously become aware and refocus our intention on sending out love, those feelings dissolve. It's extraordinary how instantaneously it can happen in fact, when you simply take a moment to breathe deeply and remember love.

So next time you are feeling sad about missing that person, feeling stressed about that work deadline, or feeling tired of opportunities always seeming to fall through... send love to them. Send love to every enemy, every loved one, every memory, every situation, every event, every deadline, every thing you possibly can. Because if there is one thing that is for sure, it's that love won't do anything but help. And usually, it helps even more than we might be able to see or feel. If you focus your intention on unconditional, unrelenting love, you will be amazed at how much lighter, more expansive, and more authentic you will feel. I know it still amazes me.
